SwitchBot Presence Sensor + Hub Mini Matter Combo Review
By Aalex Coupons Editorial Team | Updated November 2, 2026
This $59.99 bundle pairs a mmWave presence sensor with an infrared hub. It can automate older air conditioners and TVs, but Matter support comes with a catch.
The appeal of this bundle is simple: lights, fans, and air conditioners respond to whether someone is in the room, including older devices that only have an infrared remote. It is listed at $59.99 and combines two SwitchBot products that also work apart.
We have not bench-tested this product. This review is based on the manufacturer's published specifications and listing, checked on November 2, 2026. Prices and stock can change, so confirm both at checkout.
The verdict
This is a good starter kit if your home has infrared appliances and you want presence-based automation. It is a weaker fit if your main goal is Matter, since you will also need a compatible gateway.
What each part does
Presence Sensor. It combines mmWave radar, PIR, and a light sensor. SwitchBot says it can detect someone with minimal movement, such as reading or working at a desk, which is where motion-only sensors tend to switch lights off too early. Without a hub, it supports up to 5 local automations with other SwitchBot devices.
Hub Mini Matter. It controls infrared devices such as TVs, fans, and air conditioners by app or voice. SwitchBot lists support for more than 100,000 infrared devices and up to 4 Matter sub-devices.
The catch with Matter
The product name can suggest that Matter works out of the box. SwitchBot's listing says Matter functions require a third-party gateway such as a HomePod mini or Google Nest Hub. If you own neither, budget for one or plan to use the SwitchBot app instead.
What it does together
- Turns an air conditioner or fan on when you arrive and off when you leave
- Keeps lights off unless someone is in the room
- Sends a phone alert if presence is detected while the system is in security mode
- Lets you control connected devices while you are away
SwitchBot describes these savings as "noticeably lower" energy use but gives no figure here, so results will depend on your home.
Who should skip it
Skip this combo if your appliances already have their own smart controls, because the infrared hub would add little. Infrared control also tends to be one-way, so check how your specific device behaves before relying on it for anything important.
Price check
When we checked, the combo and the standalone Hub Mini Matter listing both showed $59.99. Compare the two before you buy, because the bundle looks like the better value at those prices. Code 10UPCPHG4WDRQQ is listed for 10% off all products, which would bring the combo to about $53.99. SwitchBot advertises free shipping on orders over $99, so this item alone falls under that threshold.
